Check Out Garmin's Forerunner 610 - New For 2011!

Garmin's cranked out yet another new GPS Watch, seemingly the first new model since the 310XT (see here).  It looks like Garmin's decided to go after the training crowd with this new model as it uses the more standard watch format first seen in Garmin's 405 - though it adds plenty of features.  Let's talk a bit about those.

Garmin Forerunner 610 Features

Touch Screen: The 405, and its predecessor the 410, both featured a "touch bezel" that you used to operate the watch.  Personally, I didn't like the 405's touch bezel and I had the same complaint that many runners seemed to share - it was too sensitive and often resulted in you changing settings accidentally, while also being a bit difficult to operate and get the result you wanted.  The 610 has leaped past a touch bezel to a full on touch screen with tapping, swiping and scrolling similar to that found in iPhones, Androids and other personal electronic devices.
